Nortico is from tiny vineyard plots in Moncao and Melgao, the best Alvarinho growing area in Portugal. Unlike others from the area, Nortico has no added CO2, making for a richer, fuller, well-balanced wine. 100% Alvarinho. Sustainably grown vines planted in granite soil. Creamy citrus oil, lime and yellow apple notes are nicely spiced and detailed with saline mineral and floral underpinnings through the long finish.

The 2018 Cuvée Luke Saralee’s Vineyard is a wonderful Rhône Ranger blend of 48% Roussanne, 35% Marsanne and 17% Viognier. It is an outstanding effort, perfumed with notes of rose petals, honeysuckle, apricot and peach. This complex, dry white is medium to full-bodied and elegant. Something about this wine is vaguely reminiscent of Beaucastel’s Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc, made largely from Roussanne.

Called Orange Gold, the wine is made from a blend of Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Marsanne, Mauzac and Muscat. The nose is complex, with an explosion of notes of white flowers, candied fruit and white pepper. On the palate, a very flattering aromatic freshness, with precise flavors and a beautiful balance to which the structure gives body and spirit. Sweet and fine, its texture envelops the palate. The tasting ends with a nice length in the mouth that prolongs the gustatory journey and sweet bitter touch that stimulates the taste buds.
